Course of Study Description

For the first time in history, the outer school of The Brotherhood of Light is reopening its door as the Academy of Hermetic Arts (AHA) in an online mystery school format. The course material is taken directly from the Brotherhood of Light Courses on the hermetic arts by C. C Zain.

You are invited to engage in this authentic process of unfoldment following the courses in their original sequence. This online curriculum is sponsored by The Church of Light. You can find more information about The Church of Light at www.light.org.

The initial course, CS00 Introduction to Brotherhood of Light Studies, is free and is an excellent way to get acquainted with the great material offered in the online curriculum. This free course is available on the “Study” page of this site. Click here to view in a separate tab.

There are twenty-one courses in the curriculum. (Two of the courses are divided into two parts.) Each course contains both topic quizzes, to help you better understand the material, and a final exam. You may freely browse the content outline of each of the twenty-one courses.

There are two paths from which pursue your studies. One requires membership in our sponsoring organization, The Church of Light, the other does not. The Church of Light is a membership organization dedicated to disseminating the tenets of the Religion of the Stars and the occult sciences. Membership in the organization is not required to enroll in our online course of study, but there are additional benefits to be derived from membership. The benefits of each path are described below.

The student member is referred to as a Neophyte. The non-member student is referred to as an Aspirant. While both these terms have an inner meaning, they are primarily used as a means of clarification. It is highly recommended that the Neophyte take the first three courses in order because they offer a good foundation for the rest of the material. In general, however, the courses can be taken in any order.

There are three purchasing options: (1) you may purchase the courses one at a time at your convenience, (2) purchase them all at once at a significant discount, or (3) purchase a single branch of courses, at a somewhat lesser discount, from the Astrology branch, the Alchemy branch, and/or the Tarot, Masonry and Esoteric Arts branch.

Aspirant Path

Studying

Membership in The Church of Light is not required for this path because you will not be receiving initiation material and private award manuscripts.

  • Final Exams for each course mark your progress. Final exam records are kept for a limited time but, beyond storing the results, we do not track your progress.

Neophyte Path

Remember, then, child of earth, that the mind is enlightened in seeking God with the eyes of the will. God has said, “Let there be Light,” and light inundated space. Humans should say, “Let truth show itself and good come to me.” And if they possess a healthy will, they will see the truth shine, and guided by it will attain all to which they aspire.

Because you will be receiving Initiation material and private Award Manuscripts, membership in The Church of Light (the keepers of The Brotherhood of Light Lessons) is required.

Membership is something to consider seriously because it requires pledging mental, spiritual, and financial support for the organization. You will be asked to make a New Member donation on the membership application.

How to Get Started

Step 1.  Decide if you are enrolling as a member of the Church of Light (Neophyte) or will study as a non-member (Aspirant). Already a member of our organization? Simply enter your member ID in the appropriate field on the enrollment form. If, not yet a member, go to the light.org website (click here) and:

  1. Click the Login/Register button at the top left of the screen and register on the light.org website.
  2. Then select Application for Membership from the light.org Membership menu and fill out the membership application.

When you return here to the AHA site, proceed to Step 2. Note that, since the approval process and the issuance of your Member ID can take several days, you may use a special Member ID of 999999 during your initial enrollment (Step 3).

Step 2.  Decide which purchasing option you wish to pursue.

Step 3.  Click the Join button next to the purchasing plan you have selected.

Step 4.  Click the Study link on the main menu, click on your first course and get started sounding the mysteries of the hermetic arts.

Initiation
Both Aspirant and Neophyte Paths offer three purchasing or enrollment options:
  1. Single Course,
  2. Bundle and purchase the Complete Set for a significant discount, or
  3. Bundle and purchase a Single Branch at a somewhat lesser discount than the complete set. Branches include: Astrology, Alchemy, and/or Tarot, Masonry and Esoteric Arts.
Enrollment for both Paths consists of making a successful purchase.

Neophyte Path

ILLUSTRATION NAME

The Neophyte Path is the same process as the Aspirant Path with one exception. Because you will be receiving private award manuscripts membership in The Church of Light is required. Membership requires pledging mental, spiritual, and financial support for the organization.

How to Get Started on the Neophyte Path

Step 1: Being a Neophyte requires membership in The Church of Light.

If, you are not yet a member, please go to the light.org website by clicking here (a new browser window will open) and:

1.  Under “Membership” scroll down to “Application for Membership.”

3. When you return here to the AHA site, proceed to Step 2.
Note:  while your membership application to The Church of Light may take several days to complete, you may begin your enrollment in coursework with Step 2. You will be notified when your application completed in Step 2 has been accepted via email.
