BofL Online Mystery School

For the first time in history, the outer school of The Brotherhood of Light is opening its door to an online mystery school known as the Academy of Hermetic Arts (AHA). The course material is taken directly from the Twenty-One Brotherhood of Light Courses on the hermetic arts by C. C Zain. These courses were created by Elbert Benjamine, under the penname C. C. Zain, at the request of the elders of The Brotherhood of Light in March 1910. The Twenty-One Courses comprise the most comprehensive and scientific system of ancient occultism ever put into written form. The system has the potential to awaken you to the inner plane and its influences, your astrological signature, your potential and windows of opportunities, the snares and pitfalls that often trap humanity, and the practices and abilities which will enable you to transcend the veil of death, as the soul embarks on its infinite journey of evolutionary progression into the effervescent vistas of conscious immortality.

Students are strongly urged to review the initial course, Introduction to the Academy and the BofL Lessons, which is free, contains an overview of all the courses, reviews the origins of this material, and shows you how to best use this site.

There are two paths of study. One requires membership in The Church of Light (Neophyte path). The other does not (Aspirant path). The Church of Light is a membership organization dedicated to disseminating the tenets of the Religion of the Stars and the occult sciences.

The first three courses offer a proper foundation for each branch of study: Astrology, Alchemy and Magic. For this reason, it is highly recommended that students take the first three courses in order. In general, however, the courses can be taken in any order.

HOW TO STUDY

ASPIRANT or NEOPHYTE

Before making an application and joining, here is what you need to know…

There are Two Study Path Options

Option 1: Aspirant Path

Studying

Membership in The Church of Light is not required for this path because you will not be receiving initiation material and private award manuscripts.

Simply purchase your course(s) on the “Study” page and start studying. Just click the Study link on the main menu, or you can click here and open a new tab on your browser. Note: The Introductory course is set as a requirement to begin study in both the Aspirant and Neophyte paths.

Benefits:

Quizzes are offered at the end of each chapter.
Final Exams for each course mark your progress. Final exam records are kept for a limited time but, beyond storing the results, we do not track your progress.
Certificate of Achievement for each course you complete.
The Quarterly publication (articles related to the material you will be studying) and notifications regarding other activities that might interest you. To receive this via email, you must first register at www.light.org. This process does not require you to become a member.

How to Study as an Aspirant:

Click the Login button in the Main menu, then click Register an Account.
Select a username, enter your email address and then click the Register button.
Receive an email with a link to set your password. Click the first link in the email.
Accept the auto-generated password or enter a new one, in the New Password form. Then click the Reset Password button.
Login with your username and new password.
Review the free introductory material, Course 00 Introduction to the Academy and the BofL Lessons.
Then go to the Study page and purchase your first course.

Option 2: Neophyte Path (requires application for membership)

Membership is something to consider seriously because it requires pledging mental, spiritual, and financial support for the organization. You will be asked to make a New Member donation on the membership application.

Once you have passed all twenty-one courses, you will receive:

How to Study as a Neophyte:

If you are not already a member of The Church of Light, you will need to become one. Click here to open a separate tab in your browser on the light.org website where you can complete and submit your application for membership (If you prefer, go directly to the light.org website, click on “Membership” and then select “Membership Application”). Fill out and submit the application and be sure to check the box indicating that you are enrolling in the Academy. After completing your application, switch back to this tab and go to Step 2 to complete your enrollment.
If you are already a Church of Light member (or have applied for membership), start the enrollment process by clicking the LOGIN button in the Main menu of this site, then click “Register an Account.”
Select a username, enter your email address, and then click the “Register” button.
You will receive an email with a link to set your password. Click the first link in the email.
In the New Password form, accept the auto-generated password or enter a new one. Then click the Reset Password button.
Login with your username and new password.
Review the free introductory material, Course 00 Introduction to the Academy and the BofL Lessons.
Then go to the STUDY page and purchase your first course.

Note: Processing the application for membership can take several days. You will be notified by email of acceptance and afterwards receive a New Member Package. While you are waiting for acceptance into the organization, you may begin your studies by purchasing your course(s) of interest.

It is recommended that the Neophyte take the first three courses in order because they offer a good foundation for the rest of the material. After the first three, the courses can be taken in any order.

It is also recommended that you complete no more than one course per month. This allows the unconscious mind to process the new material including the award manuscript that you will receive after completing each course.

Enrollment for both Paths consists of making a successful purchase as described in the steps below:
